Liberty begins
at home.

Kerr County roots. Texas character. American liberty.

Precinct 215 is a grassroots Republican community grounded in self-government, constitutional principles, personal responsibility, and the belief that government is most accountable when it remains close to the people.

Meet your chair

Liberty, technology, and a Hill Country perspective.

My name is Jacob Wellnitz, and I serve as the Republican Precinct Chair for Precinct 215 in Kerr County.

My connection to Kerr County began in childhood, when I attended Camp Chrysalis. My grandmother and her husband later retired here, and my mother and her husband live nearby in Medina. The Hill Country has been my home for more than a decade.

I worked at Schreiner University and later at Bandera Electric Cooperative, and I graduated from Schreiner. Today, I work in international cybersecurity, but my perspective remains grounded in the values I learned here: local responsibility, neighbor helping neighbor, stewardship, and practical self-government.

I have been engaged in liberty-focused politics since I was 18. My wife and I are raising our three boys here and are active in the life of Hosanna Lutheran Church. My faith shapes how I understand public service: as a vocation to care for our neighbors, steward what has been entrusted to us, and serve with humility, honesty, and diligence.

That combination of local roots and technical experience informs my work as Republican Precinct Chair for Precinct 215. I understand both the character of our communities and the increasingly complex issues affecting rural Texas, from data centers, solar farms, and battery energy storage systems to emergency warning systems, communications infrastructure, roads, water, power, and public safety.

My goal is to listen carefully, communicate clearly, help neighbors participate, and represent Precinct 215 with steadiness and good judgment. I also bring firsthand election experience from serving as an election clerk in Precinct 215.

What does a precinct chair do?

A precinct chair is the Republican Party's most local elected or appointed leader, connecting individual Republican voters with the Kerr County Republican Party.

01

Represent

Bring the priorities and concerns of Precinct 215 residents to the County Executive Committee.

02

Inform

Help neighbors find dependable registration, ballot, polling, and election information.

03

Organize

Build a neighbor-to-neighbor network that can turn shared convictions into local action.

“Self-government works when citizens know their neighbors, know the issues, and choose to take responsibility.”

That work begins here, one conversation and one household at a time.
